Description: Large, flying insect that feeds on a wide variety of trees during summer. Heavy infestations can leave a tree completely defoliated.

Trees Affected: Many tree varieties including linden, crabapple, birch, serviceberry and others

What to look for: Beetles feeding on leaves, skeletonized leaves, falling leaves during July

Treatment Options: Systemic soil applications, insecticide spray during periods of leaf feeding. Can do application to lawn and turf grass to kill the beetle in the ground.
